Getting started
Requirements
- A computer with a Flash-enabled web browser (preferably Firefox or Internet Explorer).
- An internet connection. Most likely you have these first two already if you're reading this.
- Willingness to think outside the box and to learn new things
- Very basic computer knowledge (recommended). If you use the computer for more than an hour a day, you should be fine.
- Patience (optional)
Rules
- This is not a point and click game.
- Most levels will require you to modify the URL address by changing the HTML page. All HTML pages within the game have the extension .htm and all of them are in lowercase. Not all levels use HTML, but most do.
- All pictures are in the "pics/" directory of the same directory where the HTML page is located. For example, if the HTML page sits under "start/", then all pictures will be located in the directory "start/pics/". Pictures come in all format, usually ".jpg".
- All levels do not require you to purchase any software. There are open source solutions for you to use. If you do not have a program to edit pictures or audio, you may need to install one (GIMP for pictures, Audicity for audio). midnightstare.com is not responsible for any damage done from installing software used to play this game. You wouldn't let a stranger into your home, so use your own discretion when installing any new software.
- Some levels may require you to search for answers which you may not be familiar with or may require you to learn something new. You may use google, wikipedia and all the resources of the world at your disposal.
